16Se quiseres observar os mandamentos, eles te guardarão; se confias em Deus, tu também viverás. 17Diante de ti, ele colocou o fogo e a água; para o que quiseres, tu podes estender a mão. 18Diante do homem estão a vida e a morte, o bem e o mal; ele receberá aquilo que preferir. 19A sabedoria do Senhor é imensa, ele é forte e poderoso e tudo vê continuamente. 20Os olhos do Senhor estão voltados para os que o temem. Ele conhece todas as obras do homem. 21Não mandou a ninguém agir como ímpio e a ninguém deu licença de pecar.
Second Reading
1Cor 2,6-10
6 Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing. 7 Instead we speak the wisdom of God, hidden in a mystery, that God determined before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.” 1 0 God has revealed these to us by the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
