Lc 15,1-3.11-32

First Reading

Js 5,9-12

9 The Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have taken away the disgrace of Egypt from you.” So that place is called Gilgal even to this day. 1 0 So the Israelites camped in Gilgal and celebrated the Passover in the evening of the fourteenth day of the month in the rift valley plains of Jericho. 1 1 They ate some of the produce of the land the day after the Passover, including unleavened bread and roasted grain. 1 2 The manna stopped appearing the day they ate some of the produce of the land; the Israelites never ate manna again. They ate from the produce of the land of Canaan that year.

Second Reading

2 Cor 5,17-21

1 7 So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away—look, what is new has come! 1 8 And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 1 9 In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation. 2 0 Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making his plea through us. We plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God!” 2 1 God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God.
