Gospel
Jo 16,12-15
First Reading
Pr 8,22-31
2 2 The Lord created me as the beginning of his works, before his deeds of long ago. 2 3 From eternity I have been fashioned, from the beginning, from before the world existed. 2 4 When there were no deep oceans I was born, when there were no springs overflowing with water; 2 5 before the mountains were set in place— before the hills—I was born, 2 6 before he made the earth and its fields, or the top soil of the world. 2 7 When he established the heavens, I was there; when he marked out the horizon over the face of the deep, 2 8 when he established the clouds above, when he secured the fountains of the deep, 2 9 when he gave the sea his decree that the waters should not pass over his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 3 0 then I was beside him as a master craftsman, and I was his delight day by day, rejoicing before him at all times, 3 1 rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth, and delighting in its people.
Second Reading
Rm 5,1-5
1 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have also obtained access into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory. 3 Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance, character, and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
