Gospel
Mt 13,1-23
First Reading
Is 55, 10-11
1 0 The rain and snow fall from the sky and do not return, but instead water the earth and make it produce and yield crops, and provide seed for the planter and food for those who must eat. 1 1 In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.”
Second Reading
Rm 8,18-23
1 8 For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the coming glory that will be revealed to us. 1 9 For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God. 2 0 For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly but because of God who subjected it—in hope 2 1 that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. 2 2 For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now. 2 3 Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.
